Literature Text

we were golden once
our fates intertwined
glowing with an ethereal happiness
we danced on the embers of our perpetual sorrow
and worshipped the North Star
But it grew stale.

I was
    trapped
        suffocating

and so I pulled away
selfishly cherishing my freedom
the air was crisp
and I was
    free
        free
            free

But it grew stale.

and I longed once again to dance with you
the red string of fate binds us still

I reach for your hand
Our fingers touch
And you are ash in the wind...
It's... - GASP - a poem??? That's right, folks. Thanks to my creative writing class, I am back into writing after that 2-year-long lapse.
Don't ask what this poem is about. It was for an assignment (the seed poem project) so it's not particularly significant. I personally like how it came out, though.
